"Yes, sir." "Oh, Captain Weaver, there are many wicked people at sea!" cried Miss Acton. "Think of the pirates! Think of the slavers! My poor, poor niece!" "Have a good time last night?" he asked. And so down the path ridged with the bronze bars of late afternoon sunlight, they passed, Harry strutting in the lead, wrinkled face lifted, scanty white locks streaming in the breeze as he drew from his whistle a wild sweet melody. "And do you see this here object that I'm holdin' up afore your dotin' father's eyes?" Caleb's face grew stern. "I told you, Harry O'Dule, that I'd give you no more liquor," he replied..
